CORDINAMO - Angiographic Core Lab Analyses

Cordinamo is a Core Laboratory which is specialized in measurements of coronary (recently also carotid) arteries. Due to long-term experience and expertise in clinical trials we can offer you highly accurate, reliable and reproducible measurements. Our Imaging Core Lab follows and maintains standard operating procedures (SOP’s) to perform quantitative and qualitative coronary analyses.

Quantitative Coronary Angiography (QCA) is an important and invaluable tool in interventional cardiology. This QCA technique can be used to prove immediate and long-term effects of Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA) and evaluates the medical interventional techniques.

Qualitative Assessment or visual assessment of the angiogram includes the vessel characteristics (morphology), the filling of coronary arteries as well as Distal Embolisation and Myocardial Blush Grade (MBG).

Magnetic Resonance Ventricular analysis (MRV), quantitative analysis provides automatic or manual segmentation of the endo-and epicardial left ventricular heart wall on all short axis images, in time as well as in space. Viability of myocardium can also be quantified together with the local deterioration of myocardial blood flow. 

Our Core Lab provides an unbiased cross-sectional analysis of the arterial wall through the entire length of the branch. IntraVascular UltraSound (IVUS) is an alternative method to coronary angiography. It can detect the efficacy of PTCA and stenting in patients and evaluates the adaptation of the stent to the arterial wall with objective data.

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a light-based imaging technology that allows for very high resolution imaging in biological tissues. Cordinamo uses the Medis QIvus software which provides fast analysis and side-by-side reviewing of IVUS and OCT images. (Medis, the Netherlands). 

An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a technique that measures the small electric waves being generated during heart activity at various time points for each patient. The results are usually combined with other trial data.

Cordinamo maintains its own server network with security, along with back-up and recovery. We are in the possession of sophisticated computer imaging equipment, CAAS II and QIVA (Pie Medical, the Netherlands).
